EDX CEO Tony Acuña-Rohter Named to TabbFORUM 40 Innovators in Financial Markets
We’re proud to share that EDX CEO Tony Acuña-Rohter has been named to the 2025 TabbFORUM 40.
The TabbFORUM 40 honors top innovators in capital markets, leaders whose blend of vision, strategy and execution sets them apart in applying technology for maximum advantage. This fourth annual list, researched by TabbFORUM Contributing Editor Jeffrey Kutler, recognizes the achievements and influence of 40 outstanding disruptors and difference-makers having the greatest impact at the intersection of finance and technology.

Bidding to set an institutional-grade standard for digital-asset trading, EDX Markets was launched in 2022 under the leadership of Jamil Nazarali, formerly of Citadel Securities, one of the venture’s prominent financial backers. Its hub in Singapore, EDXM International, went live in 2024. Late that year, Nazarali transitioned to executive chair, handing the CEO reins to Tony Acuña-Rohter, who was chief technology officer since 2022 and, before that, CTO of ErisX through its acquisition by Cboe Global Markets, and director of software engineering at CME Group.
“We are solely focused on being part of the crypto market’s financial infrastructure through our exchange and clearinghouse,” according to an Acuña-Rohter post in July. On the to-do list: additional forms of collateral, 100-plus coins by the end of the year, and cross-margin across all EDX products. “Some of the most sophisticated names in finance are already here,” the CEO added.
